Schedule, Results & Live Stream: Gilas Pilipinas in 2015 FIBA Asia Championship

Gilas Pilipinas, the Philippines national men’s basketball team is headed to Changsha in Hunan, China to compete against Asia’s best teams in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship from September 23 to October 3, 2015.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and the coaching staff, led by Coach Tab Baldwin, have selected the final 12-man roster to represent the national team as they continue the campaign to qualify for the 2016 Olympics Basketball in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Leading Gilas Pilipinas are naturalized star Andray Blatche and veteran campaigners Jayson Castro, Ranidel De Ocampo, Gabe Norwood, Marc Pingris, Asi Taulava, Sonny Thoss and Dondon Hontiveros.

Also joining the squad are FIBA-Asia first-timers Terrence Romeo, Calvin Abueva, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser and JC Intal.

Gary David and Jeth Troy Rosario will serve as reserves.

In order for Gilas Pilipinas to automatically qualify for Olympics, they must win the Gold Medal. If the team finishes with a silver or bronze medal, they will have to go the tougher route through the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
