Certified Public Accountant October 2017 Board Exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the official results of October 2017 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

The examination was conducted by the PRC on October 7, 8, 14 and 15 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao.

A total of 4,511 out of 14,816 examinees passed the October 2017 Certified Public Accountant Board Exam, according to PRC (via PRC Website).

ALFONSO SOLOMON RAMOS MAGNO, a graduate of UNIVERSITY OF SANTO TOMAS, ranked first in the October 2017 CPA Board Exam with a rating of 91.33 percent.

Performance of Schools in October 2017 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination

With 50 or more examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage, UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES-DILIMAN emerged as the top performing school in the October 2017 Certified Public Accountant Board Exam as per Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010, with 100% passing percentage.

Certified Public Accountant board exam covered the following subjects: DAY 1 - Taxation, Business Law and Taxation, Financial Accounting and Reporting and Practical Accounting I; DAY 2 - Auditing, Auditing Theory, and Theory of Accounts; DAY 3 - Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting, Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions and Auditing Problems; DAY 4 - Management Advisory Services and Management Services.

The Board of Accountancy who administered the October 2017 CPA Board Exam are Joel L. Tan-Torres as Chairman and members namely Eliseo A. Aurellado (inhibited), Gerard B. Sanvictores, Gloria T. Baysa, Concordio S. Quisaot, Samuel B. Padilla and Arlyn S. Villanueva.

From November 9 to November 21, 2017, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following:

  • Notice of admission
  • duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • 2 pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag)
  • 2 sets of metered documentary stamps

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the mass oathtaking of the successful examinees in the October 2017 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER, PRC said.

During the last examination conducted last May 2017, a total of 3,389 out of 9,645 examinees passed the CPA board exam, PRC announced.

VIANCA PEARL INOT AMORES and MARIANITO JESUS BERDIN DEL RIO topped the May 2017 Certified Public Accountant Board Exam with a rating of 92.67%.
