NAPOLCOM releases April 2014 PNP Entrance and Promotional Exam Results

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) released the April 2014 PNP Entrance Exam results, Police Officer and Senior Police Officer Exam results. The official results were released on Friday, June 6, 2014.

The examination was conducted by the NAPOLCOM on April 27, 2014 in several testing center nationwide which includes Makati, San Fernando (La Union), Tuguegarao, San Fernando (Pampanga), Cabanatuan, Calamba, Cavite, Calapan, Legazpi, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Pagadian, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Koronadal, Cotabato, Butuan and Baguio, and in Odiongan, Romblon; Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro; Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte; and Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

A total of 2,070 or 16.39% out of the 12,631 examinees passed Philippine National Police (PNP) Entrance Exam, according to NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Eduardo U. Escueta (via NAPOLCOM website).

Out of the 10,673 who took the Police Officer exam, only 2,084 or 26.27% passed while 1,742 or 20.82% out of the 8,367 examinees passed the Senior Police Officer exam, Vice-Chairman Escueta added.

The results of the Police Inspector and Police Superintendent exam categories shall be released next week.

“The immediate release of the results of police exams is in consonance with the Commission’s commitment with the PNP and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to make the examination results in synch with the police recruitment process,” Escueta said.

The PNP entrance examination consists of questions on general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning; while the promotional examinations include general information, police administration and operations, and police customs and tradition/values and ethical standards.

The Police Officer 1 qualifying examination consisted of questions on general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning, NAPOLCOM vice-chairman Eduardo Escueta said.

The promotional exam for Police Officers 2 and 3; Senior Police Officer (for SPO1 to SPO4); Police Inspector (for Inspector and Senior Inspector); and Police Superintendent (for Chief Inspector and Superintendent) included general information, police administration and operations, and police customs and tradition/values and ethical standards, he added.

Aside from the online availability of exam results, the NAPOLCOM will also notify nationwide results via post at the commission’s central office located at 371 Senator Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Makati City. Regional list will be posted in each of the NAPOLCOM Regional offices also.

The National Police Commission conducts two sets of police exam every year which includes Promotional Exam for those who already in the police service and PNP Entrance Exam for those aspiring to enter PNP.

The PNP ENTRANCE EXAMINATION is open to all Filipino citizens who graduated from a college or university and have a Bachelor’s Degree and possess the age, height and educational requirements as provided in the PNP Examination announcement and for Police Officers I (PO1) whose appointments are temporary for lack of appropriate eligibility.

An examinee who passed the test will have the eligibility appropriate for the appointment to the rank of PO1 (Police Officer 1) as prescribed by Section 30 in the RA 6975, amended by republic Act 8551.
