The Professional Regulation Commission or the PRC announced on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, that the schedule of May 2014 Board Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (BLECPA) has been moved to July 20, 21, 28 and 29, 2014, originally scheduled on May 11, 12, 18 and 19, 2014.
According to PRC in an announcement posted on its official website, the postponement was made “due to vacancies in the membership of the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy which left only two active members of the seven-member board thereby rendering the Board short of the requirement for a quorum to validly perform its duties and functions, specifically in the formulation and extraction of test items, conduct of the examination proper and releasing of the results.”
The PRC issued a Board Resolution No. 1 Series of 2014 mentioned that, during the meeting of the board held last June 2, 2014, “a new examination schedule has been agreed upon, taking into consideration the length of time that the new members of the Board reasonably need to prepare for the licensure examination.”
The CPA Board Exam will be held in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi and Lucena.
As detailed in a separate announcement, PRC also stated the new schedules of the subjects in the July 2014 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination.
The new schedule of subjects is as follows:
- Day 1 (July 20): Auditing Problems from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and Practical Accounting II from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
- Day 2 (July 21): Theory of Accounts from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and Auditing Theory from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The new schedule is embodied in Memorandum Order No.2014-03 dated June 9, 2014.
