LOOK: NAIA Terminal 1 photos before-and-after the airport rehab

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), known by many as the “World’s Worst Airport” is starting to have a new look after the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) initiated the rehabilitation of the Terminal 1.

The project began in January 2015 and the P1.3 billion rehabilitation project is expected to be completed by May 2015.

According to the report in Official Gazette of the Philippines, this is the first time in 30 years that NAIA Terminal 1 has undergone considerable renovation and rehabilitation. Selected facilities in the terminal have been renovated while new facilities have also been added.

Around 80% of programmed works in NAIA Terminal 1 have been completed. Repairs in passenger movement areas such as the arrival and departure areas are expected to be finished by March 31, 2015, Terminal 1 manager Dante Basanta said.
