El Gamma Penumbra, a shadow play group from the Philippines, made a magical performance on April 2 episode of Asia's Got Talent.
The Filipino group "shadow play" dance piece amazed the judges of the show, especially Indonesian rock icon Anggun, who pressed the 'Golden Buzzer.' This means that the group from Batangas, Philippines is going straight to Asia's Got Talent semi-finals which will be held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Their dance routine shadow play showed some of the famous tourist destinations around the world. Watch the performance of El Gamma Penumbra:
Aside from Anggun, El Gamma Penumbra got praises from other judges which include former Spice Girl Melanie C, 16-time Grammy winner David Foster and Taiwanese-Americn pop idol Vanness Wu.
"One of the beautiful things about sitting in this chair is I get to see things I would never see in my life. I have no idea how you did it. I have no idea how it works, but I know it was absolutely magical. Thank you for a beautiful experience," Foster said.
Melanie C, for her part, said, "I got emotional after watching that. It's mind blowing."
"I loved how you guys told the stories beautifully and it was just so wonderful to see live and up close. Thank you so much for that great job,'' Wu added.
On their Facebook page, El Gamma Penumbra thanked their supporters and vow to give more meaningful performances in Asia's talent search competition.
"To everyone who continued supporting us, thank you so much and we will never fail to give you a more meaningful performance in the semi finals that is specially dedicated to all our supporters."

El Gamma Penumbra is already quite well-known in the Philippines. The group initially gained popularity after joining "Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3" and become finalist. They didn't win the competition but with their amazing performances, they were still featured in different ABS-CBN programs including Choose Philippines theme song "Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas."
