Paquito N. Ochoa Jr., Executive Secretary, by authority of President Benigno 'PNoy' Aquino III, has declared November 18 and 19, 2015 as special (non-working) days in the National Capital Region (NCR) for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM).
The declaration was made through Proclamation No. 1072, s. 2015, issued by Malacanang on July 13, 2015.
APEC Philippines 2015 is the year-long hosting of APEC meetings in the Philippines. The AELM is considered the highlight of the international event.
APEC now comprises 21 member economies: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Republic of the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.
As the host country, the Philippines is expecting all the leaders of the 21 member-economies to attend the meeting from November 18 to 19.
