Report: Sen. Grace Poe to announce plans for 2016 National Elections on September 16

Senator Grace Poe, who garnered the highest number of votes of more than 20 million in the May 2013 elections, will announce her plans for the 2016 national elections.

The Inquirer quoted the statement from the office of Senator saying: "Sen. Grace Poe will make an important announcement in connection with her plans for the 2016 National Elections."

In a report by ABS-CBN, according to their source, the plan of Poe, the daughter of National Artist Fernando Poe Jr. and veteran actress Susan Roces, is to run for president of the Philippines.

The announcement of her plans will be on Wednesday, September 16 at 6 p.m. at the Bahay ng Alumni in the University of the Philippines, Diliman Quezon City, as the deadline for the filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) is within a month to go.

During its regular en banc meeting on March 17, 2015, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set the date October 12 to 16, 2015 for the filing of COCs for those running in the May 2016 elections.
