Gilas Pilipinas finally found their rhythm and dominated Iraq side, 84-75, on their 6th game in the 39th William Jones Cup at the Taipei, Taiwan.
After having 1-for-26 run from three-point distance in a loss to South Korea, Gilas stood its ground against Iraq side and played well beyond the arc with Matthew Wright having shot a two 3-pointer and Roger Pogoy having one at the half.
Gilas had its biggest lead at 18 points, 67-49, on the second half after a Kevin Ferrer three-pointer.
Mike Myers dropped another double-double with 16 points and 18 rebounds and Kiefer Ravena recorded 13 points and six assists.
RR Pogoy scored 12 while Carl Bryan Cruz and Jio Jalalon both scored 10 points.
After settling a nine point lead win and with 4-2 tournament standing, Gilas Pilipinas will take on Lithuania on Friday, July 21 at 3 pm.
Iraq, which led 19-15 after the first quarter, was led by Demario Aquan Mayfield with 29 points, four rebounds, four assists and six steals.Video Highlights
