Gilas Pilipinas showed their best offensive performance yet in the 39th William Jones Cup, after defeating India, 101-70 and knocks down 17 shots beyond the arc on Saturday, July 22 at the Taipei Peace International Basketball Hall.
Matthew Wright ended the game with a team-high 19 points and shot 5-of-5 from three-point land in just 14 minutes while Pessumand and Vostros both hit four three pointers and added 14 points.
Christian Standhardinger scored 10 points and 4 rebounds.
Von Pessumal hit three three-pointers and Wright added two treys off the bench which led Gilas to a 27-7 run, in the second quarter to open a 22pt lead.
Almond Vosotros joined the scoring parade in the final period, hitting 11 straight points in one torrid stretch that saw Gilas' lead reach a high of 37 points, 94-57, with 4:20 minutes to go.
Gilas, now having 5-3 tournament record currently in fourth place in the standings will then face Iran in their final game of the tournament on Sunday July 23.Video Highlights
