The FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 that will start on September 22 in Chenzhou-Hunan, China releases its finalized competition schedule for Group Phase and Final Phase on Saturday, September 9.
Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas which enters the competition as a wildcard after the withdrawal of Japan, will compete against the four teams in the Group A namely BC Astana (Kazakhstan), Mono Vampire BC (Thailand), Sarreyet Ramallah (Palestine) and Petrochimi (Iran).
Chooks-to-Go’s first game in the tournament will be a face-off with BC Astana (Kazakhstan) on September 22 at 9:45 in the evening that will be followed by a game against Sarreyet Ramallah (Palestine) on 4:45 pm of September 23.
Philippines will go head to head with Thailand’s Mono Vampire BC on September 24 at 2:30 in the afternoon and on September 26, 9:45 pm, Chooks-to-Go will take on the Iran’s Petrochimi for their last Group Phase game.
Meanwhile, Group B that is made up by defending champion China Kashgar, who will have Gilas naturalized player Andray Blatche, Al Riyadi of Lebanon, Dacin Tigers of Chinese-Taipei, ONGC of India, and Al Shabab Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates will also have their games against each other starting September 22-26.
In group phase, teams will play under single round robin format. The top four teams from each group will advance to final round in a knockout format.
The top four teams from Group A will face the top four teams from Group B in a crossover knockout quarterfinal stage to determine the semifinalists.
The losers in the quarterfinals will relegated to the classification games to decide the 5th to 9th places.
Lastly, the winner teams then battle in the semifinals to determine which two teams will end up battling for 3rd and which clubs will play on the Finals scheduled on Saturday September 30.
