The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the official results of August 2017 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination on Thursday, August 31, 2017.
The examination was conducted by the PRC on August 26 and 27 in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena and Tuguegarao.
A total of 4,821 out of 5,661 examinees passed the August 2017 Medical Technologist Board Exam, according to PRC (via PRC Website).

With 50 or more examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage, UNIVERSITY OF SAN AGUSTIN, CEBU DOCTORS UNIVERSITY, HOLY NAME UNIVERSITY (FOR. DIVINE WORD-TAGBILARAN) and COLEGIO SAN AGUSTIN-BACOLOD CITY emerged as the top performing schools in the August 2017 Medical Technologist Board Exam as per Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010, with 100% passing percentage.
Medical Technologist board exam covered the following subjects: DAY 1 - Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology and Parasitology and Clinical Microscopy (Uninalysis and other Body Fluids); DAY 2 - Hematology, Blood Banking and Serology, Histopathologic Techniques, Cytotechnology, Medical Technology Laws, Related Laws and its Implementing Rules, and the Code of Ethics.
The Board of Medical Technology who administered the August 2017 Medical Technologist Board Exam are Dr. Marietta C. Baccay as Chairman, with members namely Ms. Marilyn R. Atienza and Ms. Marian M. Tantingco.
From September 6 to September 13, 2017, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.
Those who will register are required to bring the following:
- Notice of admission
- duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
- 2 pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag)
- 2 sets of metered documentary stamps
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
According to PRC, those who failed to pass the board examination for Medical Technology but had obtained a general rating of at least 70% can register as Medical Laboratory Technician.
The date and venue for the mass oathtaking of the successful examinees in the August 2017 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER, PRC said.
During the last examination conducted last February 2017, a total of 2,378 out of 3,216 examinees passed the Medical Technologist board exam, PRC announced.
