Active Military Personnel to get free MRT-3 Rides

Through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), all active military personnel can ride the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) for free for a year starting on April 25, 2018.

The MOA signing is witnessed by DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, DOTr Usec. For Railways Timothy John Batan, MRT-3 General Manager Rodolfo Garcia, and Civil Relations Service AFP (CRSAFP) Commander Brig. Gen. Bienvenido Datuin, Jr.

In a statement on Tuesday, the DoTr said that the free train ride is a way of recognizing the sacrifices of our military.

In return, the AFP will be providing the DOTr-MRT-3 ambulance and medical teams for assistance during emergency and crisis situations upon advance coordination and when available.

To avail the free MRT ride, military personnel must present their AFP identification cards.
